Race to Save Lives - November
Save the Date - November 7, 2015
The idea for a community event to raise awareness about suicide was started by the Krueger family to honor the life of Elaine Krueger. The original Stayin' Afloat event in downtown South Bend became what is now Race to Save Lives held in November on the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka campus.
This is our largest fundraising and awareness event and all proceeds support the Suicide Prevention Center and its programs including youth suicide education in area schools; local suicide prevention and intervention training to school staff, social workers, caregivers, police officers and more; general suicide prevention informational presentations available by request; support services to those touched by suicide including a monthly support group.
Suicide loss survivors are encouraged to join us for the "Walk of Hope" to walk with friends or family in memory of a loved one who died by suicide. We offer information on local resources as well as special ways to remember loved ones.
We are currently looking for business partners and sponsors. If you would like to receive information on the levels of support available, contact Tracy at 574-247-6047 ext. 120 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org

Hey Runners! Did you know our courses are USATF Certified? The 5K & 10K courses are out and back starting from the hospital campus and continuing into parts of Mishawaka. The 10K route winds through the Winding Brook neighborhood, a popular spot for other local runs! This course is fast and flat and a great opportunity to get a new personal best! USATF Certified courses ensure that the distance is accurate!
