Race to Save Lives - November
.

November 7, 2015

benefiting the Suicide Prevention Center at United Health Services

The idea for a community event to raise awareness about suicide was started by the Krueger family to honor the life of Elaine Krueger. The original Stayin' Afloat event in downtown South Bend became what is now Race to Save Lives.  All proceeds support the Suicide Prevention Center at United Health Services and its programs to prevent suicide in our community and the surrounding areas.

Race to Save Lives is a 5k & 10k chip timed on certified courses in near-by Mishawaka at the Saint Joseph Health System. Medals are awarded three deep in each age group with attractive trophies for the top male and female in both the 5k & 10k.  Entry fee includes an event shirt and post race snacks!

We are pleased to be partnering with the Student Veterans Organization (SVO) and Sweats for Vets at IUSB! The SVO is a student group whose purpose is to help veterans transition to school life, along with hosting events and raising money for local charities. Race to Save Lives is proud to be the recipient of this years local fund raising initiative. Veterans can contact the local SVO office to receive a discount code for online registration.
